When green builds hide network stalls

A passing pipeline can still leave developer network workflows blocked if handoff markers never reach your analytics store.

Abstract light bands across a dark reflective surface

Green builds feel definitive. They are also easy to over-trust. If application analytics only count job success inside one repo, a stalled network handoff — waiting on a shared gateway, a partner API, or a mesh policy — never appears in the rollup your leads review.

Start by listing the stages that must complete for a change to count as delivered across your developer network. Then check whether those stages emit events your analytics actually consume. Gaps between “CI green” and “path complete” usually show up as chat friction without matching alerts.

A practical fix is to pair stage success SLIs with handoff completion SLIs, and review both in the same weekly workflow pack.
